EVSC Seniors Show Increases in ACT Scores

The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation has been notified that this year’s seniors posted the highest one-year increase in ACT scores since the 1992-93 school year. This year, the EVSC showed a .7 increase in its ACT composite scores over last year’s numbers, said Susan McDowell Riley, assistant superintendent for performance, assessment and research in the EVSC. The EVSC this year had a 20.6 composite score and increases in all curriculum areas tested. “Our goal is consistent, sustained improvement in all aspects of our work,” said David Dimmett, chief academic officer of the EVSC. “These results are movement in the right direction, and credit must go to classroom and school leaders who are better meeting the needs of individual students.”
